Organisation and Management of the Centre

The non-profit incorporated association that operates the Centre is Woden Early Childhood Centre Inc.(ABN 65 514 661 896)  which is governed by its constitution. Parents of children at the Centre are members of the Association.

A Committee of parents, elected at the Annual General Meeting of parents, oversights the overall operation of the Centre.   The Committee makes the big decisions about the centre, such as how we spend our money and making plans for our future.

The  Committee  meets once a month.  The meetings are advertised in advance at the Centre.  All parents are encouraged to attend meetings, whether they are members of the Committee or not.  Attending meetings or being a member of the Management Committee is one way for parents to  participate in decisions that affect their children.

Meetings are almost always held outside working hours, in the early evening. A light dinner and care for children of parents attending the meeting are usually provided.

Minutes of committee meetings are available at the Centre to parents.

The Association employs a Director who manages the day to day running of the Centre.  The other staff are also employees of the Association.
